Catherine Ellen Mitchell
Catherine E. Mitchell 81, of Kennewick passed away January 21, 2010 following a brief illness. She was born March 3, 1928 in Buhl, ID to John and Catherine Day. She worked as a checker for Safeway and a bookkeeper for Albertsons until her retirement. She was a past president of the Retail Clerks Union.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John and Stephen Day.
She is survived by her son Pat Mitchell his wife, Gloria, of Richland, Brothers, Pat Day of Boise and Paul Day of Renton. Grandchildren, Anne Mitchell Meyers of Kennewick, Coleen Mitchell of Richland and Rachel Benjamin of Wenatchee and 6 great grandchildren.
At her request there will be no services. Her family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to her favorite charities, The Golden Ages Food Share and the Benton -Franklin Humane Society
I was so sorry to hear about Cathy. She was such a good friend of my mom Sneezie and the whole family. I remember calling her Aunt Cathy when I was a kid and she and Pat would sometimes babysit Jackie, Terry, and I. She was a wonderful person and she will be missed.
