Rosemary Ann Goodenow

In memory of our Mom, Rosemary Ann Colton Goodenow born to Harry and Ann Colton on March 24, 1923 in St. Louis, MO. She passed away on August 2, 2010 at her home.

In 1930 they moved to Denver where mom went through East Denver High School. She met her husband Jake Goodenow at Kress Department Store in Denver and they had their first date on Valentines Day in 1943 and were married April 23, 1943 and moved to Newport, OR where their first daughter Charlene was born.

In 1945 they moved to Richland, WA where Jake worked for DuPont as an operator. Their next four children, Janice Jane, Patricia Lea, Kenneth Lester and Lawrence Dale were born at Kadlec Hospital. Mom worked at Albertsons in Richland from 1961 until her retirement in 1986. She was also a long time volunteer at Kadlec Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jake Goodenow; brother-in-law, Jack Goodenow; sister-in-law, Margaret Yorgensen and her parents.

Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Charlene Wilson, Jan Greenough Steve; Patricia Underwood Glen and sons Kenneth Goodenow and Larry Goodenow Angie. She also survived by her grandchildren, Ronda Muller Eric, Shawn Wilson Kathy, ReAnna DuBois Wayne, Eric Peterson Elana, Christopher Underwood Christine, Jason Underwood Shauna. Marissa Beckner, Spencer Goodenow, Lexie Hassan Elliot, Jake Goodenow, Madison Goodenow; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Colton Shirley; nieces, Kimberly Young Christian, Suzanne Shermerhorn Bill and Debbie Anderson Bill.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 5:00-8:00pm at Einan's Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 2:00pm with visitation one hour prior to the service time at the Temple Baptist Church, 4555 Arena Road, Richland. The family invites you to the reception following the service at the church. Graveside service will held at 4:30pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland.
