Lynold Richard Doolittle
Lynold "Dick" Richard Doolittle, 71 of Richland, WA passed away March 12, 2011 at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family in his final days. Dick was born on January 25, 1940 in Washingtonville, New York to Lynold and Mary Doolittle.
Dick was a proud Vietnam War veteran. After his service, he married the love of his life, Mildred O'Banks Ferris. From 1963 to 1981, he worked for the State of New York Transportation Department. He was a volunteer firefighter and EMT. Dick and Mildred moved to the Tri-Cities in 1981. Dick was an avid fisherman who never missed an opportunity to go fishing with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary. He is survived by his spouse of 44 years, Mildred; sister, Nancy McCullum of Mount Pleasant, SC, Step-daughter, Sharon Phil Pulver; grandchildren, Robert Bonnie Van Erem, and Shanna Jeremy Hauger; great grandchildren, Blaine and Nora; and nieces, Terri, Donna, Paula and their spouses and children.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26th, at the Memories at Sunset Event Center in Richland.
