Loraine B. Lehrman went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October, 8, at the age of 86 after a 2 year struggle with Chronic Obstructed Pulmonary Disease. She was born March 25, 1925 in Gerber, California to Ursel & Martin Luther Luke Bratton.

She graduated from Mills High School, Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1943. During the war she was a riveter for the Boeing Aircraft Co. in Seattle, WA. & a welder on liberty ships in Portland, Oregon. Loraine married the love of her life, Francis V. Lehrman on February 23, 1946, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage and best friendship.

Loraine was a long time member of the Cathedral of Joy & Silver Eagles. She was passionate about volunteering which included 4-H, Boy Scouts & Girl Scout leadership for her children, Red Cross, RSVP, Quail Hollow, Chamber of Commerce, Meals on Wheels & Senior Lifeline service. Many years in Rambling Rovers brought traveling enjoyment. She also loved traveling which included the United States, Mexico and many countries in Europe when her dear Babe was alive.

Her brother Jim Bratton, Ashland, Oregon survives her along with her 3 dearly loved nieces, Julie, Patti & Sally. She is survived by her children Gary Lehrman Sandy & Bonnie Lehrman of Richland, Susan Gaskell of New Orleans. Her grandchildren, Jennifer Lehrman Shearer, Gini Lehrman, Krista Chris Zumhofe, Scott Lehrman, Melody Gaskill, Steven Gaskill, Ursela Ryon Lechelt, Verland Gaskill & Ernie Gaskell. She also had 6 great-grandchildren and another due this spring.

She is preceded in death by her husband Francis, parents Luke & Ursel and sister in law Bernice Bratton.

The Family wishes to thank the caring staff at the Eagle Rehabilitation & Eagle Assisted Living, Kadlec Medical Center, Dr. Clair De Jesus at Kennewick General Medical Mall, Pastors Phil & Dorthy Boucher & Dick Sanders at Cathedral of Joy & Bill Lotz at Tri-City Chaplaincy.

A Celebration of life will be held at Cathedral of Joy on Saturday, October 15th at 1:00 pm.

  • Loraine has left a whole in our breakfast group… I miss her, but she is in “good hands” now and doesn’t have to suffer any longer!! She was quite an inspiration and such a go getter!!

  • I enjoyed having Loraine as a neighbor and will miss her. She was a very cheerful and positive person and a joy to visit with. I pray the family will have comfort in knowing she is with her Lord and Savior.
