Charles H. Davenport

Charles H. Davenport was born on Jan. 7, 1930 to Leonard L. Sr., and Nadine L. Craven Davenport, in Burleigh County, ND. He passed away on Nov. 26, 2011 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center.

Charley married DeAlda L. Schmidt on May 15, 1954 in McLaughlin, SD. They moved to Ephrata, WA in 1955 where he did construction work on the Lower Monumental Dam. In 1961 they moved to the Richland "Y" where they started the family business, Dee's Produce. Mom & Dad enjoyed fishing, playing cards and just being with family and friends until mom passed away in 1991. On Sept. 5, 1992 dad married Ruth "My Ruthie" Schienle. Dad and Ruth loved going to Yuma, AZ for the winter where they made many new friends together.

Dad will be missed by all who knew him.

Charles is survived by his sister, Genevieve Les Kessel of Bismarck, ND; son, Claris W. Butch Davenport of Prosser, WA; daughters, Sally A. Dean of W. Richland, WA, Mary J. Bumpaous of Richland, WA, special daughter, Linda Flett of W. Richland, WA; grandchildren, Thomas C. Dean of W. Richland, Jessica L. Francisco Davenport Aquino of Richland, WA, Jennifer L. Ramos Ayala of Kennewick, WA, Samantha J. Bumpaous of Richland, WA, Dale E. Bumpaous, Jr. of Richland, WA; special granddaughter Tia J. Ortiz of W. Richland, WA and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, DeAlda and Ruth; brothers, Leonard Jr., George, Floyd and William Bill and his son Charles J. "Chuck" Davenport.

Visitation will take place Friday, December 2, 2011 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm with a funeral service starting at 2:00pm at Einan's Funeral Home. Following the funeral service a graveside service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Benton City. The family would like to invite you to the Moose Lodge in West Richland, off of Van Giesen.

In lieu of flowers the family has set up an account at Gesa Credit Union for the funeral expenses in Charles name.
