Edwin ‘Pat’ Joseph Latzko

On February 21st 2012, Edwin Joseph "Pat" Latzko went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Pat was born on March 17th, 1922 St. Patrick's Day in Hammond, Indiana. He attended Purdue University and graduated in 1947 with a degree in mechanical engineering. His schooling was interrupted by his service in the Army: assembling vehicles for the WWII front. After college, Pat worked for McRae Refrigeration in Kendallville, IN. In 1949, after a 2 yr. courtship, he married Lois Rowe. In 1953, Pat and Lois moved to Spokane, WA, where Pat was employed by Standard Plumbing and Heating. In 1963, Pat and Lois, along with their son, James and daughter, Joy, moved to Richland, WA. While in Richland, Pat earned his professional engineering certification and did design work for different Hanford contractors until his retirement in 1987.

One of the greatest joy's in Pat's life was his personal relationship with Jesus Christ and spending time studying His Word. He served the Lord in various leadership, teaching, music, and maintenance ministries at First Baptist Church of Richland. Pat loved people and enjoyed serving them in whatever way he could.

Pat will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Lois; children, James Allene Latzko and Joy Kerrick Bauman; brother, Bob Latzko; grandchildren, Michael Latzko, Janeane Dan Dalton, Carrie P.J. Millsap, Kyle Bauman, and Katelyn Bauman; and great grandson, Dominic Millsap.

  • I too remember Pat’s hospitality and warm smile when we used to meet every week in his home for bible study. He was always a great example and encouragement to me. He served the Lord very faithfully and was very blessed because of it.
