When she was 18 years old she met her future husband, Rube, when she started working at his grocery store. They joined the Clover Island Yacht Club where they made many friends and had many great boating experiences.
After Rube retired from WPPS in 1988, they traveled around the country visiting friends and family. After Rube died in 1988, Mom settled in being the best grandma and great grandma. She was always ready to help. Her greatest joy and the highlight of her life was always her family and she loved them above all else. According to everyone she was also the BEST cook.
