Blanche “Blaza” Marie Razo

Blanche Blaza M. Razo of Toppenish went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 10, 2013 in Richland, WA. after a long courageous battle with kidney disease
Blanche was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly.
Born on Feb. 3rd, 1938 to Blas and Rosaura Perez in Texas, and they moved to Yakima when she was a young girl and then met her husband Raymond B. Razo whom she was married to for 42 years. Together they raised 6 girls, and for a time, 4 grandchildren.
Blanche had a life that put her through many trials and tribulations, yet she stood strong like a rock for her family and grandchildren. Blanche raised her daughters to be strong and independent women and she instilled many good qualities and values. She provided a loving safe home and made sure her children and grandchildren never needed for anything.
She worked for Crystal Linen in Yakima for many years, then went to work with her husband at Brulotte Farms, Gamache Farms, and Pistoresi Farms. From there, she went back to school for nursing and worked at Toppenish Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinic and Toppenish Nursing Home as a CNA. During her work in the Toppenish Nursing home she saved a patient from falling out of bed, and as a result she was unable to continue working. She then focused on taking care of her youngest daughter, Michelle Razo and took in grandchildren who demanded all of her time and attention.
Blanche loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends, of which she had many. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, cooking, fishing and camping, and crafts. She loved the outdoors and loved piling the kids up in the pickup and whisking them away for a fun camping trip. She enjoyed many spontaneous moments with her oldest daughter Barbara and was being cared for by her youngest daughter, Michelle.
Blanche is survived by her loving and lifetime husband, Raymond B. Razo of Richland formerly of Toppenish, sister Beatrice DeMarquis of Texas, brother Alex Perez of Canada, and 6 daughters: Barbara Capetillo-Supnet Gamet of Toppenish, Veronica Mirelez Gamet of Yakima, and Regina Pina Cabebe Gamet of Yakima, Cassandra Birrueta Gamet of Wapato and Michelle Harper Razo of West Richland formerly of Toppenish, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and 6 step children.
Blanche is preceded in death by, her parents, Blas and Rosaura Perez; her daughter, Katrina M. Hernandez, Juarez Gamet, grandson, Michael J. Supnet, and 2 son in laws, Reynaldo Capetillo and Thomas Supnet.
Momma, you will be missed by all who knew and loved you. Rest In Peace...

  • We grew up with the Razzo/Gamet family. Alot of good times and great memories! Blanche’s cooking, funny stories, a cold drink, and lots of kids running around with smiles on their little faces. Blanch will be sorely missed. Our prayers are thoughts are with your family as you get through this. Just know that she is at peace and still shaking her finger at all of us!

  • Blaza was my classmate at Adams Grade School in the late 1940’s and at Washington Junior High in the early 1950’s in Yakima. Blaza had an outgoing personality and was liked by everyone. I always knew her as Blaza until the last time I saw her, some time ago, when she told me that her name was Blanche. She will be missed by all that knew her.
