Kathy Dawn Lehrschall

Imagine yourself in a beautiful field of flowers where you notice a lovely young woman dancing among them. She sees you and approaches. Her smile is kind and inviting, and she radiates with joy and happiness. She engages you with a warm, inviting conversation about where you are and talks about the surrounding beauty. You are amazed how she notices the simplest details of the flowers, the trees, and the butterflies. You can discern that she is virtuous in character and has a zeal for life. She continues to share with you the many blessings in life that she enjoys, and you have no doubt in your mind that what she says is true. Even though you have just met, her uplifting countenance has stirred a tender change in your heart, which you will carry with you from that day forward. This young woman is our sweet Kathy. We love her for her example of looking at the "positives" in life. Being around her makes us smile, laugh and embrace our lives in the same way. Someone so special will surely be missed! Kathy Dawn Gray was born June 9, 1979 to Boyd and Michelle Gray. She came home from the hospital to an excited big sister Amy. Her parents were both very busy working on their farm. Kathy's father made a special chair so she could ride in the swather with her mother. Her grandma Anderson would come rescue her and take her home with her. Kathy spent a lot of time with her grandmother and was very close to her. On her last visit to Washington, Kathy still had to sit on grandma's lap. She was planning another trip for her grandma's birthday, so she could jump out of a big box and surprise her…Kathy loved surprises.

Kathy attended Mesa Elementary where she loved art. She would draw and doodle by the hour. She was very good at painting. Making many gifts for family and friends that are still treasured to this day. Kathy loved the outdoors. She loved to play baseball and swim when she could; even trying to persuade Wade to buy her a bicycle just a few weeks ago.

Kathy had a plan for her life from a very young age. She attended Connell High School while entering a running start program at Govan's School of Hair Design during her senior year. She graduated from Kamiakin High School in 1997.

Shortly after graduation, she utilized her degree in hair design and leased a station to start her own business. She had many clients that loved her.

Kathy had many requests for dates, but was never interested until she attended a Young Adult Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pullman, WA. She returned from the conference and informed her mother she had met a "10" named Wade Lehrschall. Kathy's family could not wait to meet this special man that had met Kathy's high standards.

With the swift blossoming of their relationship, she and Wade were shortly thereafter sealed together in the Portland, Oregon Temple. Having made this eternal commitment, they began their wonderful life together. She wrote a card to her mother just a few weeks ago and still referred to Wade as her "Prince Charming."

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Wade; mother, Michelle Cunningham, step-father, Jeff Cunningham; father, Boyd Gray; sister, Amy Crawford, brother-in-law, Curtis Crawford; half-sister, Salem Gray, adopted sister, Jessica Prather; grandmother, Beverly Anderson, grandfather, Lester Gray; nephews, Dillon, Andrew, and Jarret Crawford; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kathy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many callings within her church enabling her to serve and bless the lives of others. Through this dedicated service, Kathy was able to share her unwavering witness of the Savior Jesus Christ.

Kathy completed her life mission on earth March 22, 2013. Leaving behind her legacy of being a loving compassionate daughter of our Heavenly Father.

As we make arrangements to put her mortal body to rest, we rejoice that through the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ, her sweet spirit is with HIM now!

As we mourn our great loss here on earth, we rejoice in HEAVENS' GAIN. We know Kathy will be waiting for us all and especially for Wade, her eternal partner, to dance with her in the beautiful fields of Heaven!
