Thomas Boyd Page, 88, of Whitstran WA, passed away on March 17, 2013 in Richland. Tom was born November 6, 1924 in Paris, TX but grew up in Muskogee OK. After spending time in an orphanage Tom joined the Navy in 1940 at age 16. During WWII he served aboard the USS Tennessee and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. In 1952, Tom was honorably discharged from service.
Tom worked several years in California where he met Irene Hamaker. In December 1960 they were married. After having three children, Tom and family lived in several locations around the country because of Tom's work in the nuclear industry. In 1980 the family settled in Richland and decided to call eastern Washington home. In 1984 Tom and Irene moved to Whitstran to raise cherries and enjoy the country lifestyle. In 1991 Tom retired after several years working for ARCO as an engineer on the Alaskan slope.
Tom's fondest memory was when he was involved in Cub Scouts while living in Fremont, NE.
He was awarded Cubmaster of the Year for the Midwest region and the family spent two weeks at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.
Tom is survived by his wife Irene, daughter Tere, son Jon Jenny, son Joel, and grandchildren Ellie, Jack and Woody, and Nathan.
A private family service will be planned for a later date.
