Alissa Kirsten Paine

Alissa Kirsten Holter Paine died at Kadlec Hospital in Richland, Washington, on Saturday, April 13, 2013. Her death was unexpected, but she had suffered from a number of health problems throughout her life.

Alissa was born to Gregory Martin Holter and Nancy Ann Waxler Holter on November 10, 1978, at Kadlec Hospital in Richland, Washington. She grew up and lived her whole life in the Tri-Cities, except for one year attending WSU in Pullman. She graduated from Hanford High School in June of 1997.

Alissa married Jason Benedict Paine in Howard Amon Park in Richland on July 6, 2003. They had two children.

Alissa received an Associate's Degree from Columbia Basin College in 2005.

Alissa was an artist at heart and enjoyed art, music, and pets.

Alissa had worked for a number of years as a waitress and bartender in the Tri-Cities, although she had not worked recently because of health issues.

Alissa is survived by her husband Jason and her children Isaiah and Ezra of Richland, her sister Gretchen David Reeploeg of Richland, her parents Gregory and Nancy Holter of Richland, her maternal grandparents George and Mary Ann Waxler of Mapleton, North Dakota, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind an extended family of friends.

A memorial celebration of Alissa's life will be held at 3 PM on Monday, April 29, at Sunset Event Center in Richland.

Memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity or to Pet Over Population Prevention.

  • My deepest sympathies go out to Alissa’s family and friends. I fondly recall moments shared with her at Hanford, and one of her art projects she did for me in an 8th grade Mexican culture class truly blew me away. Talented. Cheerful and upbeat. An enjoyable student and a sweet young woman.

My thoughts are with you all.
