Denise Carol Myers

Denise Carol Pietz Myers, was born on July 7th 1958 to Robert and Marian Pietz. She has a Twin sister; Debra Kay Pietz who was born 4 minutes after her at Kennewick General Hospital. She was survived by her Sister, 2 brothers; Gary Dean Pietz and Jeffery Robert Pietz. Son; Brady Clay Myers. Nephew; Korey Martin Pietz, Neice; KayLa Marie Pietz and Great Nephew; Marlo Kalar Davis.

Denise was a life long resident of the Tri-Cites. Times of adolescents, Denise attended Lewis & Clark Elementary and Carmichael Middle Schools; she went on to Richland High School then studied and got her GED. Business College was to follow. Her last occupation was as a Desk-top Publisher for Westinghouse/ Hanford. When the love of her life, Brady Clay Myers was born she was working out in the Hanford Area, "full time," taking on the role of being a "full time Mom!" Not to mention being a devoted wife, who loved to cook meals for her husband, Clay Myers. Clay and Denise went their separate ways in 1989. In her 20's she became very dedicated to aerobics classes at a Women's Health Club, named "Village Health Club." She then started going to the Community Center in Richland, doing "Aerobic Classes", with Patti Romrell Mason, every day after work. In 1996, Denise had a gastric bypass surgery, which was a BIG turning point in her life. It lead to many health and mental illnesses. From this point on, Life was a continuous struggle for her! But she never gave up on the slightest bit of HOPE, and she prayed a lot! She had a LOVE for cats, all her years growing up. This eventually became a passion. There was a time, when she became aware of the homeless kitties living down at "Howard Amon Park, and by Hapo Credit Union," she was very adamant about feeding those kitties on a daily basis. Along with the task of taking care of her own, plus any strays in the neighborhood who would come around, needing to be fed! She loved cooking meals for people too! When her dinners were done and HOT, she let you know, and you better had get there QUICK, "while it was still HOT!" She would repeat, over and over! Then she made sure everyone got enough, and liked it, and asked, what else she could get ya!

When her Dad passed away June 25th, 2008, she missed him terribly. She is preceded in Death by her father Robert Stanley Pietz; Grandparents Elmer & Myrtle Pietz and Jentz and Louise Ericksen.

  • I was so sad to read the article in the paper. Denise and I worked together many years ago at the Hanford Site. We had really busy jobs, were very productive, yet found a way to take out a minute or two to laugh about something – anything! We’d laugh about finding enough time to run to the bathroom!! Denise had a wonderful giggle and I can hear it right now. I have fond memories of our working years together. Take care Debbie and Family.

  • What a beautiful memorial service today for Denise. I knew Denise better than Debbie as we were growing up, but then we drifted apart as often happens. I was blessed to reconnect with Debbie a couple years ago via Facebook. My only regret is that I wasn’t able to reconnect with Denise before her passing. Debbie, you are in my thoughts and prayers every day as you are going through “the valley of the shadow of death”. I’m inspired by your strength and courage. God bless you and your family.

  • I used to take aerobics classes with Denise at Village Health Club. I was pregnant at the time and feeling self conscious and she really affirmed my participation and encouraged me. I was very touched by her wanting to keep me motivated to stay in shape. She was a very thoughtful and caring person …and fun! That has been a long time but she left a strong impression on me. I’m so sorry for your loss.

  • I met Denise when we both worked as members of the Quality Training Resource Center QTRC, Westinghouse. We became good friends and remained so. She always had a smile and a great laugh. I will miss our chats. She will be missed and the world is not as complete without her. As I don’t take the paper, I didn’t know about her service until today April 29th. Already missing you Denise.

  • To Marian, Debra, Gary, Jeff and all extended family;

    I’m so sorry for your loss, such devastation should happen to no one. I cry and hurt with you. I know your pain must be intense, a kind that doesn’t seem to go away. Denise was a very tender hearted person. Her love for animals was much like my own. Remember the good times when you think of her, and hold fast to the precious times you spent together. All of our lives were changed and blessed by having known Denise and her memory will never be forgotten.

    Remembering you in my prayers,

    Catherine

  • My heart aches every day without you Sta! I don’t know how to do life without you. I’m scared at times, cause I feel so lost..:` Every song that comes on the radio, has a memory of you, connected to it! I feel such despair, but, I am so relieved that you are out of your suffering. Way back when, during one of your crisis hospital stays, I remember praying to God, “please take me, not my sis!” For, I know you better, at this point than she does, and I would gladly go in her place!” :` You spared her at that time, only to take her from me later on…:` Love you sis, more than you’ll ever know. I’m content in knowing that your mind is clear now, and you’re not living in that terrible fog anymore! Facing the task, of daily struggles, was debilitating in and of itself! RIP my precious twin sis! You will be with me always! Give Dad a Big “Hug & Kiss” for me… and I will see you both again, when it’s my time to cross over! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo <3 <3
