JAMES ANTHONY STIFTER STIFFY

Jim was born June 11, 1949 in Spokane, WA to James and Martha Stifter. Jim passed away at his home in Richland on April 23, 2013.

Jim was a lifelong resident of Richland. He graduated from Col. High in 1967, then went on to serve in the US Navy. He proudly worked as an IBEW Journeyman Lineman for over 30 years, which took him all the way to Antarctica and Alaska until his retirement.

Jim enjoyed his Mexico vacations, koi pond, fishing, boating and his granddaughter Taryn.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Stifter

Jim is survived by his mother, Martha Stifter, son, Anthony Stifter, daughter Katie Stifter and his granddaughter Taryn. He is also survived by his brothers Mark Stifter and wife Carmen, Dr. Shawn Stifter and wife Naomi and his sister Sylvia Kunkler and husband Guy.

Along with many nieces and nephews who we are sure will all miss being teased by their 'Uncle Jimmy'.

Services will be held at Einan's Monday April 29, 2013 at high noon with a graveside service immediately following at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

There will be a viewing Sunday April 28 from 2-5 pm.

  • Katie,

I am so sorry for the passing of your dad even if I didn’t know him I felt like I did because of all the things/stories you have told me about him. You are both lucky people to have that love you and your dad shared. He was your best friend, hero, and a father you looked up to. Cherish the memories and remember he will always be watching over you and be in your heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  • Martha and Family,

We are so sorry to hear of Jimmy’s passing. I’ve thought of him throughout the past 45 yrs. Jimmy was my first boyfriend and I can remember him holding my hand under the hymnal during church. He walked several blocks out of his way to walk me to school. It was cute when he sang the song “Red Rubber Ball”. Our thoughts are with you at this time. We pray for peace and comfort,
