Margaret J. Norton was born April 15, 1917 in Roberts, Montana. She passed away April 29, 2013 in Prosser.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Marvin R. Norton; infant daughter Rosetta Norton; brothers Lonnie Thomas, Charlie Thomas, and George Thomas; sister Mabel Claunch.

Survivors include her sons and their wives, Jim and Carolyn Norton and Tom and Bonnie Norton; grandchildren LeAnn Johnson, Conni Rhodes and Jimmy Norton; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Norton; and Margaret's very special and dearest friend, Hazel Maples.

Margaret Thomas was raised on a small family farm in Kansas and when a young lady she met and married her loving husband Marvin. After losing a baby girl and then having her two boys Jimmie and Tommy, the family made their way to the Tri-Cities area in Washington state in 1943. Marvin worked at Hanford until retirement, while Margaret worked for the Richland School District and then Kadlec hospital in Richland until her retirement.

Of most importance to Margaret, and only one of her many attributes, was her love of family. All of those she has left behind have their own fond memories of Margaret, Mom, Grandma Margaret, Aunt Margaret. Gathering at Margaret's and Marvin's home for holidays and holiday meals was a traditional affair for her family. Margaret will be missed by her family and friends, but all will agree that Margaret had a long and happy life.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with a light reception at Memories at Sunset Event Center to follow.
