Orville Lee Hill, Jr.
Orville Lee Hill, Jr. spent his 80 yrs filling his life with many adventures. His youth was spent in Kansas City, MO where he was born on March 9, 1933.
He moved to the Tri-Cites in 1945 and was a long standing member of Pipe Fitters Union 598.
Orville volunteered to enlist in the Navy and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Benton City VFW.
Orville married Bobby Hess of Benton City and had two boys and a girl and the family settled in Benton City. They chased the boat races with Orville all over the Untied States.
He enjoyed hydroplane racing; fishing of all kinds, even once caught a sailfish from an 8 foot rubber boat. Orville spent 12 winters traveling to Mexico with his wife Ruby, where they made many friends exploring the local culture. Dodging falling coconuts was the most danger they experienced.
Orville is survived by his devoted wife Ruby; son, Jack Barb Hill; daughter, Kary Gobbato; sister, Betty Jack Tunnison; brother, Don Hill; stepchildren, Jim Morton, Andrea Finley, and Tom Morton. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Orville & Lela Hill; sister, Wilma Riley; son, Todd Hill and his sister, Joanne Wagoner.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 5-8pm at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Evergreen Cemetery in Benton City, the corner of SR225 Horne Rd and Corral Creek Rd. Following the graveside everyone is welcome at the Community of Christ Church, 1004 Long Ave in Richland.
