Jeanne “Jane” Carpenter`

Jeanne S. Carpenter, 91, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 25, 2013.

She was born in Albany, New York on May 20, 1922 to Marcel and Germaine Saligny. She married Edison "Bud" Carpenter on August 5, 1944. Their life together started in Albany, NY.

In 1952 they went west to Boulder City, Nevada, then on to Canoga Park, California in 1957, finally arriving in Richland in 1966 when Dad took a job at Hanford. Their abiding love was evident to all during 58 years of marriage. After Dad died in April 2003 Mom never stopped missing him, now they are reunited.

Mother had a loving heart and strong faith in God. Her family was her life, she always put their needs before her own. She gave of her time, talents, and treasures to everyone. Many people will fondly remember how her acts of kindness blessed them. She cared for her neighbors and the less fortunate, always lending a hand. She loved animals, especially dogs. She grew beautiful flowers both indoors and out. Her sewing skills were exceptional. Her favorite exercise was walking. She enjoyed the outdoors and the people she met on her walkabouts.

To special neighbors Mike and Charlie, thank you for watching over her and loving her as we did.

She leaves behind her son William Carpenter, her daughter Sandra Pete Day, her grandson Peter Morgan Day, grandson Eric Day, great-grandchildren Wyatt, Ashlyn, Jasmine, Aidan, and nephews Edward Huening and Robert Veronica Huening. We love you, it's not good-bye, just see you later.

At her request, there will be a private graveside service, Evergreen Cemetery, Benton City.
