Ruth Esther Brown, 85, passed away at Richland Life Care on September 11, 2013 in Richland, WA. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Yakima. She was the 10th child in a family of 12 children. She retired in 1999 from Washington Fruit and was an avid Mariners fan.

Ruth is survived by her son, Robert Bell Brown, Aptos, California; daughter Eunice Gary Meerdink, Kennewick WA; 4 grandchildren Jon Meerdink, Pasco WA, Stacy Mike Plaisance, Yakima WA, Joe Brown, CA, Chad Tarah Brown, CA; 3 great-grandchildren Mikayla Stone, Yakima, London Brown Logan Brown, CA; brother David Brown, Seattle WA, Sister Ruby Bernle Carter, Centralia WA. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Marie Harrington and William Henry Brown and 9 brothers and sisters.

A celebration of life will be held with the family at a later date.
