Huso Nakic, 88 of Richland, died on Oct 7 in his house.

He was born on May 8, 1925 in Derventa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he lived until 1992. As a young boy he joined resistance during II World War against Nazi occupation of his fatherland. After the war, he participated in rebuilding the country infrastructure and finally settled as a warehouse manager in the local shoe factory.

He married Hanka Islamovic in 1949 and they raised five kids. When the war broke out in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992, he was captured and imprisoned together with his three sons and numerous other family members and friends. After they were released from prison and spent next year as refugees in Croatia, finally they immigrated to USA in 1993.

While in Richland, he helped raising his grandkids and loved to work in the garden. He was in good health until he was diagnosed with cancer two months ago. Huso is survived by sons Emin, Hasan and Ekrem, daughters Meliha and Emira, brother Omer and sisters Hasna, Vasva and Raska and their kids and grandkids.
