Elenmarie Davis Moxley, 87, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013. Marie was born on May 22, 1926 in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. In the early years she and her family moved to Huntington Beach California where her father found work. It was in California where Marie met and married Willard Moxley prior to his deployment to Europe during WWII. They had three children and later settled and made their permanent home in Kennewick, WA.
Marie was a homemaker while her children were young. She later had a successful career as an operating engineer and union member for many years at Hanford. Marie was a very supportive and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Those that knew Marie appreciated her outgoing personality, compassion and quick sense of humor.
She was her family's biggest fan, attending countless sporting, school, and extra-curricular activities for three generations. She also loved big band music and dancing and was a member of the Eagles. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, collecting antiques, her rose garden and visiting the ocean.
Marie leaves behind: son Fred Helen Moxley, brother Jim Sally Davis, sister Pat Mills, son-in-law Dennis Larson, sisters in law Helen Sprunger and Oberlin Jennings, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Curtis L. Moxley, daughter Rebecca Jo Larson, Willard Moxley, sister Shirley Coffman Richard and brother in law Jack Mills.
A Celebration of Marie's life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 11:00am – 2:00pm at Memories at Sunset event center, 915 Bypass Hwy, Richland, WA.
Memorial contributions may be made to the local Tri-Cities American Cancer Society. We will miss and love you always, Mom, Grandma, GG, Marie.
We were VERY shocked and saddened to hear about Marie passing. She was our neighbor for a long time. We loved her to pieces. Her and Barbara always kept tabs on my mom plus she was an excellent woman. We will miss her sense of humor her no nonsense approach. She always told it like it was. She was such a sweetheart. I will always look at her house when I go to my moms house and know that we lost an angel. My condolences to her family because I know she was so proud of each and everyone of hem. She was so fun to talk to and we will miss that. It has been truly a pleasure to have a neighbor as kind as Marie. She will be missed…thanks for the memories and calling you know who a whiner…. Rest in peace Marie

Grandma was not only Grandmother, but also my best friend. You will forever be in my heart. I will miss you. Jeff.

You are, and will be forever missed. You kept me on my toes, and made me laugh with your humor. You were so good to my boys and our grandson. I will miss our lunch dates. May you spend each eternal day laughing it up with Becky and Curt and all your other lost family and friends. You will never be forgotten. PS: I will also miss the Almond Joys you always kept for Uncle Fred and me :

Our lives have all been greatly touched by our loving Grandma Moxley. She was absolutely the best Grandma anyone could ever ask for she was always there no matter what and she loved her family like no other. I was her only Granddaughter and for my entire life she bought me an Easter dress or outfit…Easter was her favorite holiday and she loved to spoil everyone with Russel Stovers candy. I can still hear her voice when she would call me…”Dawn, its me Grandma” she’d say.. i know she’s up in Heaven or the big flea market in the sky as she would say with my Dad and Aunt Becky…She missed them so. you will be forever missed but never forgotten Grandma…I love you forever and ever.
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Marie. I had the privilege of working with her in the 200-W area for Rockwell Hanford many years ago. She always brought us a laugh and a good feeling when we interacted with her. Fortunately, your family has wonderful memories to help ease the grief. She was a special lady and those of us who knew and worked with her are better for the experience!
