March 7, 1935 - December 11, 2013
Anne died after a short illness leaving behind son Matt; wife Stacy, son Tristan, daughter Allison, and son Ben; daughter Laura - husband Craig; and daughter Betsy - husband Roger. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Deac" Wallace in 2000.
She grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa and attended Iowa State University, later in life returning to college to earn an MFA from Claremont University in California. Her paintings were exhibited in various shows and galleries around the northwest. She was a woman of many interests and enjoyed reading, painting, gardening, music, and playing bridge. A long-time Richland resident, she was a partner in the popular The Book Place as well as being active in Allied Arts, Master Gardeners, Friends of the Library, and supporting the local symphony and theater.
Anne will be missed and we invite all who knew her to come to the Richland Community Center January 11, 2:00-4:00 pm, Riverview Room for a potluck memorial gathering. Bring food and memories.
Gonna be tough not seeing her smiling face. Remember you guys can come over anytime and see your mom’s place from my backyard, have a cold beer and visit.
I will miss seeing her out and about rain or shine. She seemed like a kind soul.So sorry for all involved in this occurrence…
Anne was my partner at the Tuesday night Bridge Buddies. While we were determined to learn to play better bridge, we focused on having fun first. She was a generous partner, forgiving my many mistakes and celebrating our successes. Sometimes, she would get this “look” in her eyes, and I knew that the devil had come out in her to give the opponents a hard time. She will be sorely missed. Please accept my sympathies on her passing.

Matt, Laura, Betsy and families, I was terribly saddened to hear of your mothers passing. I feel that she and I shared a unique bond that transcends words. I hope that you find solace in the knowledge that she touched so many lives in such a positive manner. You will certainly be in my thoughts and in my heart through the grieving process.

Our thoughts, prayers & condolences. We always had such fond memories of Aunt Anne that contributed to a wonderful childhood.
My husband, Jim, and Anne went to college together. We later moved to Richland and were quickly befriended by Anne and Deac. The four of us shared many wonderful days, evenings, meals, and laughs. We moved away from Richland after about five years; however, we still corresponded with Anne by phone and e-mail. Anne was truly a wonderful, talented, and unique individual who had a terrific sense of humor, a smile that could light up a room, a laugh that was contagious, and a voice that once heard, was never forgotten. We think often of Anne and those fun days. We will hold Anne’s memory in our hearts forever. Heartfelt sympathy to Anne’s family and friends. Jim and Bonnie Hylton
