Hazel Irene Bircher died at her home at Creative Care on December 4, 2013 with two of her very dear and special caregivers present, Mickey and Kaitlyn. Hazel was born in Marcus, Washington on November 27, 1928. Hazel spent her early years growing up in Ione, Washington. She especially enjoyed the interaction with the many nieces and nephews that she had in that area. She would never tire of playing games with them. She moved to the Tri-Cities with her mother in the early 1970's and worked at Columbia Industries for a number of years. She made her home for the past 17 years at Creative Care, an adult family home. She will be remembered by her many caregivers for her smile and exuberant laughter. The family will always be grateful to the care and loving attention she received while living there, especially the special connection she had with some of her caregivers and the proprietors, Valerie and Roger. Hazel is survived by her sister-in-law, Judy Bircher and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Caroline Bircher; siblings Laura Hollandsworth, Doris Brown, Al Bircher and Ronald Bircher.
