Mitchell John Engelhart
Mitch was born December 20, 1949 in Prosser, WA to Everett and Vita Maria Engelhart. He lived most of his life in Benton City and graduated from Kiona-Benton High School in 1968.
Mitch is survived by his wife, Carol; brothers, Vic Terri, Everett Gwen; Keith Paxton; sister, Vita Vickerman; daughters, Norma Harris Robert, Melissa Engelhart RJ, Dawn Quackenbush and Dana Marr; son, Timothy Chantina Powell; 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Kayla, Cameron, Lynsey, Ashley and little Cameron; and 3 great grandchildren, Kael, Gabrielle and Anthony; nieces, Theresa Bowron, Debbie Vetter, Michelle Swaney and Nicole DeRousie; nephews, Verlin Henson, Dean Henson and Robbie Engelhart; numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Mitch also leaves his beloved dog Jake.
Mitch worked in maintenance at the Kiona-Benton School District for 27 years and had many good friends there. He enjoyed the cribbage and the camaraderie during his lunchtime visits.
Mitchell John Engelhart passed away January 21, 2014 after a long and hard fought battle to receive a new heart at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA.
A memorial will be held Feb. 1st at 1 pm at the Sandberg Event Center in West Richland. The service will be followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Benton City.
In lieu of flowers you may donate at any HAPO Credit Union in Mitchell Engelhart's name, to help with medical and after care expenses.

I will always smile when I think of my Dad…He was the best thing to ever happen to Mom and us Kids. It’s going to be hard to handle not having him here…But knowing how Wonderful he was and how much he was loved by so many…well, that will help me as the days go on, and I will be so Proud To say that He was My DAD!
