Russell “Russ” E. Cunningham

Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 my beloved husband Russ Cunningham said a peaceful goodbye, surrounded by his daughter and wife at home in Kennewick, Washington.

Russ was born November 14, 1940 to parents Wilbur and Joyce Cunningham in San Diego, California. He moved to Eastern Washington in the early 1960's to pursue work as a ranch hand, and continued to work as a respected union carpenter at Hanford up until his retirement. When he was able, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with those he loved.

We will always remember Russ by his infectious sense of humor and how his dedicated, hard-working attitude inspired every person he met.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents, brother, son Lucas, and daughter Kasi Cunningham.

He is survived by Michelle, his loving wife of 32 years, sister, Louise and husband Richard; daughter, Kerry; son-in-law D.J.; son, Louie; daughter, Lori; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Russ's life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 at Memories at Sunset Event Center in Richland, WA.

"Every minute, every second, and with my very last breath I will love you always"

Russ my love, you will ALWAYS be my HERO

  • Russ our two year journey has taught me many things, above all, the true meaning of love, and strength of the human spirit. As I witnessed your incredible courage, it brought forth in me a fierce determination to ease your journey. Ours was a story of love and devotion, testament to the vows we pledged to each other on our wedding day December 31, 1981. “In sickness & health, until death we do part” WE MEANT EVERY WORD!

Russ, I could not stop you from dying, but I could help you live.. You will ALWAYS be my HERO my darling Russ I will love you until my journey ends
