Jocelyn M Roark Norwood was born June 3, 1922 in Onappa, OK and passed away April 6, 2014. Jocie met the love of her life, Willard S. Norwood and the two married August 9, 1939 in Canadian, OK and lived in Checotah, OK for several years. They had two children, Darrel and Linda and the family moved to Richland in 1955. Jocie was a very hard worker, and helped to support her family years ago picking cotton, and working at a number of retail stores as a sales clerk. Her first priority in life was family, and to that end, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Jocie enjoyed the socialization and community service opportunities provided by the Rebekah Lodge No. 319. She served as Financial Secretary, Noble Grand and Past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge No. 319.

Jocie was a very creative lady who made lots of her daughter's clothes. She was a talented seamstress, loved to work with ceramics, crochet, knit, and created many other crafts.

Jocie and Willard loved to travel. In 1987 they toured the USA from the West Coast to the East Coast and Canada in their motor home. For their 50th Anniversary, they visited Hawaii, and cruised to Alaska and Australia with their adult children.

Jocie and Willard shared 74 years and eight months of loving marriage, which began with many hardships but grew to a comfortable life where they shared a great and lasting love for one another. They walked through those treasured years together hand in hand, always loving their children and grandchildren. Willard's song to Jocie was, "You Are So Beautiful to Me," and you were Mom, to all of us.

Jocie leaves behind her husband of almost 75 years, Willard, son Darrel Linda Sue, daughter, Linda, seven grandchildren Katrina Norwood Swanson, Richard, Khris Norwood, Shelby, and Jocelyn Wilson, Erik Wilson KT; six great-grandchildren Brandon, Maxwell, and Colten Swanson; Tyler and Tawny Norwood, and Jack Wilson.

Wife and sweetheart, Mom, Grandma - you will be missed every day. We all love you so very much.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10:00am at Events at Sunset, 915 ByPass Hwy in Richland followed by a graveside service at Sunset Gardens.
