Richard Alva Dick Rhodes of Richland, WA passed away at Kadlec Medical Center on Sunday, April 6, 2014 due to heart failure.
He passed quickly with many caring nurses, therapists, doctors and his family at his bedside.
He was born February 17, 1926 in Madison, KS, living the last 60 years in Richland. Dad married Colene LaVonne Wolfe of Madison, KS and had three sons.
He served in the US Army during World War II as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Unit traveling to Japan and the Philippines. He was a life member of the VFW and worked as a fireman and a carpenter at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation for over 30 years.
Or dad led our family on many enjoyable fishing, hunting and camping trips.
He is survived by his wife Colene of 68 years; his sons; Richard L. Rhodes Carlene. Norman E. Rhodes Shannon, Donald Brian Rhodes Conni and many grand and great grandchildren.
An inurnment will take place at 3:00pm at Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Sunset Gardens, 915 Bypass Hwy Richland, WA.
I’m Going to miss my Dad. Love him and will think of him every day. Thanking all for their caring thoughts.
I will always remember all the good times we had with Dick & Colene. They were some of the most memorable times we ever had. We had so much fun at the cabin and camping trips in their camper. Dick was just like a big brother to me and I will always love him and miss him. My sincere condolences to Colene and the family. Love you all.
