Larry Carson Miller, 64, was called home suddenly to God's glory on Monday, may 5th, 2014. He leaves his wife, Donnia, as well as his only son, Robert. Other survivors include his daughter-in-law, Julie, granddaughters, Alicia and Kelly and his younger brother, Richard and wife Christy.

He was born on August 31st, 1949 in Santa Maria, CA and grew up in Nipomo, CA. He had a knack for sports as well as academics. He excelled and lettered in track and field at Newport high School in Oregon, where he held the 200 high hurdle record from 1965 to 2006. To this day, he holds the high jump record of 6 feet 4 ¾ inches. He received an athletic scholarship to OSU, where he ran track under W.J. Bowerman, the inventor of Nike shoes. He was teammates with the 2 mile sensation, Steve "pre" prefontaine.

Larry served in the Army during the Vietnam War and afterwards became a quality control welding inspector. He worked in the nuclear power and aerospace industries. He moved to the Tri Cities in 1997, where he and his wife dedicated their lives to caring for the developmentally disabled for 2 different local agencies, Ambitions of Washington and Tri cities Residential Services where he had an impact on both clients and coworkers.

Larry had a great sense of humor and could make everyone laugh, especially his clients. He loved life, he loved to read, to intellectualize and to debate. Anyone who knew him never forgot Larry. He will be greatly missed by all. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
