Leona Maasen
Leona Monnig Maasen passed away May 11, 2014, in Moses Lake, Washington, at the age of 95. Leona was born in Glasgow, Missouri, and married William H. Maasen on September 22, 1941. They moved to Richland, Washington, in 1944. Leona was a loving wife and mother and passed away on Mother's Day. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; a daughter, Peggy Murray; her parents; and seven siblings. Five children survive Leona: Robert Karol Maasen, Bonnie Skip King, Dorothy Mike King, Janice Chris Fouts, and James Maasen. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was a long-term member of the Christ the King Catholic Church and YLI.
The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will start at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Einan's at Sunset, followed by the funeral service at 11:00am with the graveside service immediately following at Sunset Gardens
I remember aunt Leona as always being a kind and gentle woman. Although you will miss your mother, be comforted by knowing that she is surely in Heaven, happy with God. My mother, Teresa Slicker, asked me to convey her condolences also. I remember the two of them writing long letters back-and-forth to each other over the years. Mom is now 98 and in an assisted living home. Our whole family will remember you in our prayers.

guys were small. so sweet a lady
