Marjorie D. Flodin, 85, passed away on May 5, 2014.

Marjorie was born May 26, 1928, in Yakima, Washington, the oldest child of Meda and Dorothy Ward. As a young child she grew up on a ranch just outside Toppenish on the Goldendale Highway, where her favorite companion was her pony she named Brownie. Her family later moved into the town of Toppenish, where she attended school and eventually graduated from Toppenish High School in 1947. She then attended Central Washington University where she developed her interest in photography.

In 1952, she met her life-long love Wilbur Bill Flodin, they were married a year later. They spent the rest of their lives together until August 2013, when Bill passed away 1 month shy of their 60th-year anniversary. They lived 36 of those years in the Tri Cities area.

She decided early on that her family was going to be her occupation, so she spent her life dedicated to raising her children and was forever devoted to her family.

Some of our favorite words of wisdom that we know our Mom Grandma lived by are: "Always bet on the gray horse, there's no such thing as a half of sandwich, family always comes first, and save the queen of spades for your Dad." Thank you for giving us the true definition of unconditional love.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her son, Ron, and her Father Meda and Mother Dorothy.

She is survived by her brother Robert Ward of Federal Way; daughter Linda Gene Johnston; daughter Susan Duncan; son David Laurie Flodin; 6 grandchildren: Michele, Jeremy, Nicole, Brenda, Brooke, and Bryce; and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Life Care Center of Richland for the care and support they gave to Marjorie and her family throughout her illness.

Graveside services will be held at the Zillah Cemetery on Friday, May 9th, at 2:00 p.m.
