Marvin Lee Dudney
Marvin Lee Dudney passed away in his home, from his battle with cancer, with family at his side, at the age of 83 on June 24, 2014. Marv was born in Burlingame, Kansas on March 12, 1931. He spent 57 years in the Tri-Cities and called it home. His career was spent moving houses, operating various pieces of equipment and as a Teamster for various Hanford contractors. Marvin served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, long time member and officer for Moose Lodge #1716 and a lifetime member of VFW Post #3207.
Marvin enjoyed his friends and family through many activities, whether it was with a fishing pole in hand or giving you a lesson at the cribbage table. He enjoyed countless hours at the hold 'em table with his friends at the Moose Lodge. It can't go without being said the joy he received when helping friends, with yard work or providing them his famous delicious peanut brittle. Marvin is survived by children: son Calvin Heidi, daughter Marva Tom, son Robert, and daughter-in-law Lee Ann. Grandchildren Meegan, Jacob, Deidra and great grandson Weston Lee. Also, his longtime partner Maxine VanPelt and their dog, Harry.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Roberta; infant son Stephen Lee; father George, and mother Mary; step-father Del; and partner-in-crime Kenneth, "Uncle Fudd".
We will miss you "Papa".
Funeral arrangements are being done by Einan's Funeral Home. Visitation/Viewing will be Thursday, June 26 from 5pm to 8pm. The service will be held this Friday, June 27, 2014 at 3 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Celebration of Life to follow at the West Richland Moose Lodge In lieu of flowers, please make donations, in memory of Marvin, to Tri-City Chaplaincy/Hospice House.
I met Marvin & Maxine at my good friend Socorro’s house in Burbank and spent many enjoyable hours visiting with them at Socorro’s wonderful “picnics”. My thoughts are with the family and Maxine at this time.
So very sorry we could not be with you on this sad occasion. Marvin will be missed by my entire family. He was always upbeat and enjoyed life, no matter what came his way. My Dad, Uncle Fudd, loved him like a son, best friend, and compatriot. Maxine, please know that you are in our prayers and we will be thinking of you daily. To Marvins children, he was always talking about you whenever we were together, and he was very proud of each one of you. He always had something positive to say about what you were doing and how you were getting along. God doesn’t promise us tomorrow, only that he will give us the grace and strength to get through this life until we are by his side, so be good to each other and tell someone you love them today.

We’ve known Marvin for the past 12 years and come to love him and consider him our closest friend. Try as we might, we could not make travel arrangements to be with the family and his friends for his viewing today and service tomorrow.To Maxine and family, God Bless you, we love you and knowingly trust that we will be with you in spirit throughout the coming days.The Winnemucca trips, the Gold Wing rides, and all the rest will be remembered forever. Adios Marvin, you will be so greatly missed and look forward to to meeting you again on the flip side.
My Mom….Lucille Cloud, worked with Marv at JA Jones she worked in the Automotive Dept as a clerk and I remember her always talking so highly of him and what such a good man he was. My mom would be saddened by his death. May he rest in peace.

“People love others not for who they are but for how they make them feel”-Irwin Federman. Marvin was truly a very kind and loving man. He will be greatly missed by all.
It is with heavy hearts that we send our condolences to Marvin’s family. We have known the Dudney family since the mid 80’s, and almost immediately formed a strong family connection. We always enjoyed Marvin’s company. Whether it was clamming/shrimping at Quilcene, trout fishing at Tucannon, picnics in the park, or one of the many camping trips we went on together, Marvin was always happy go lucky and the life of the party. We have many fond memories of him that will forever be cherished. Rest in peace, Marvin! We love you!
