I have known Gus for approx.50 years and he always was very friendly and had a smile that will be missed.
My deepest sympathy for Bill Nerpel & family for the loss of his father. As I did not know your father it was present in his son just how nice he was. May the days give you strength and wisdom for you and your family. Our God is a wonderful God.
I treasured every moment of my time with Gus and will miss his always positive influence and his gift of weaving a few mild swear words into any story making it that much better! He was a joy to be around and a beloved addition to our family.
My sincere condolences for your loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all…along with a smile remembering how much enjoyment the Von Olnhausen clan had from the Nerpel clan over the years. Particularly loved finding Maggie and Gus at so many Senior Center functions…made me really feel like I had come home. God’s Blessings.
Bill I am very sorry to hear about your Father. It came as a surprise to all of us. Everybody from the table are thinking of you and Goldey.

My family was blessed to have Grandpa in our lives for so long! We will all miss him dearly but will never forget him or his kind spirit. He was the best Grandpa to me and Great Grandpa to my kids ever.
Bil and Goldie,
You were so very loving and kind to stay with your dad and take care of him thru his final days. I want to thank you for him for he really appreciated it. We all loved Gus and will miss him a lot.
We are sorry for your loss and are keeping you in our prayers.
On behalf of our father, Nestor Gustov Leino, boyhood friend and CCC work buddy of Gus, we would like to say how sorry we are for your loss. Prior to our fathers passing we were able to get the two of them together when Dad was here visiting from Astoria, OR where he settled after the CCC days. The two of them were like little school kids swapping life stories all day, with one trying to outdo the other. It was a memorable day for all of us!
Gus was always the gentleman, friendly and gracious. We always looked forward to seeing Gus and Maggie at the dances and will miss visiting with him. Our condolences to his family. He will be missed by many.
It was always a pleasure to have Gus return to ND and share stories of growing up with my mom and the rest of the Nerpel siblings in the Turtle Mts. He will be missed by all of us.
