Robert “Bob” E. Doty
Robert Bob was born October 3, 1941 in Toppenish, WA to Robert M. & Opal Heiner Doty.
He is survived by his wife Nancy. His children LaRenaWade Alexander of Kennewick and Mark Charlene Doty of Pasco, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Bob is also survived by his sisters, Anita Carper, Payette, ID; Theresa Long, Pilot Rock, OR; Lori Jibreen, Colorado Springs, CO, Brother Joe Austin, sister Norma Lou Doty and his precious dog Kaylee proceeded him in death.
At the age of 5 Bob and his family moved to Pasco, WA where they spent several years before moving to Island City, OR where he attended school until he was 10. They then moved to LaGrand, OR for several years before transferring to Enterprise, OR where Bob then graduated High School in 1959.
He met the love of his life in 1960. He and Nancy were married in Lewiston, ID on October 16, 1961. After they were married they moved to Joseph where Bob worked at the Harris Pine Mill. They moved to Kennewick in 1967 where Bob joined the Carpenters Trade as a 1st year apprentice while working fulltime and also going to trade school. Bob continued to advance within the carpenters trade ranks working with several construction companies in the tri-cities area including several projects at Hanford. Bob was also involved from inception to completion with the incineration project at the Umatilla Depot. Even though many jobs took Bob out of state and even out of the country including two dams building projects in Venezuela his heart remained in the Tri-Cities.
After retiring Bob spent his days working around the property tending lo his steers, chickens and garden. He took great pride in his yard and his home. He was often seen with his grandson Colten by his side helping him mow or setting the sprinklers. He was a homebody and loved his family. He will be missed by many.
Bob was a member of the WA/OR Carpenters Local 59, OR/ID Carpenters Local 306 and Los Angeles Carpenters Local 409
Per his request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter, 1312 S. l8th Avenue, Pasco, WA 99301 in his memory.
I would like to extend my condolences to Bobs’ family & friends. Although I hadn’t seen Bob in many years, I was saddened to read of his passing. Take care Nancy and I hope you find comfort in your memories ~
