Louetta Baker
Louetta Galloway Baker, 98 of Richland died September 17th . She was born in Quitman, Texas on May 1, 1916 and married Stanley Baker in Gering, Nebraska on Nov. 24, 1934. She came to Washington and settled in Benton County in 1941. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and mother, later enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lou was a kind and loving lady. Many will remember her beautiful crochet work as she made afghans and doilies for gifts. She attended several churches in the area and enjoyed Bible studies and fellowship.
Survivors include her son Laverne Karen, Benton City; one sister, Loree Munson of Corvallis, Oregon; 18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11am Saturday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Benton City.
I am so sad to hear of her passing. I loved this lady! She wasn’t really our blood relative, but we called her Aunt Lou anyway. She was such a kind, caring and loving person. Aunt Lou always had a smile and a hug to give. I remember her stopping by the house each Sunday morning to pick me up for Sunday school. She helped me memorize the books of the bible. She shared her love for Jesus with me. I’m so grateful. We may not have been blood relatives-but a part of her will live on through me because of the love she showed me. She was a beautiful woman!
