Melissa Ann Coleman-Gonzales

Our dear beautiful Melissa Ann Coleman Gonzales who we loved deeply, joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven on November 13, 2014. She was born March 14, 1972 to John R. (Rick) Coleman and Beverly (Mink) Coleman in Council, Idaho.

Her family moved to Prosser, WA in 1979, where she grew up, attended school, and graduated from Prosser High School in 1990. She was so honored to be part of the Prosser Drill team! She was also an active member in 4-H and FFA, showing her pigs at the local fairs and winning many blue ribbons!

After high school she attended beauty school, obtaining her license as a Nail Technician and working in that profession for the next 10 years while attending college at the same time.

After starting her family, she felt it was an honor to be able to stay home with her baby girls, Mia and Mady, who she loved with all of her heart.

Later on she was able to finish college and obtain her Associate's degree from Columbia Basin College. She was also accepted into nursing school and after attending for a year, she decided she needed to be home with her children.

Later on, her life was disrupted by health problems which she fought with determination and courage with her amazing faith in the Lord!

She impacted the lives of so many with her soul of a gypsy, heart of a hippie, and spirit of a fairy. She was a devoted mom and loyal friend to many!

Melissa is survived by her daughters: Mia Elizabeth and Madyson Grace Gonzales; father, John R. (Gerri) Coleman of Walla Walla, WA; her mother, Beverly (John) Hernandez of Richland, WA; brother, Scott R. (Florinda) Coleman of Prosser, WA; step-father, Jerry Chester of Prosser, WA; her grandparents Boyd & Phyllis Mink of Kennewick, WA; stepsisters: Adele (Nick) Pontarolo of Walla Walla, WA, Michelle (Dan) Kravig of Wenatchee, WA, Dorothy (Sonny) Garwood of Prosser, WA, Cindy (Jim) Bateman of Kennewick, WA, and Melinda (Cameron) Bruchett of Spokane, WA; stepbrother, Michael (Kristin) Chester of Prosser, WA; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends are also left behind.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: John R. Coleman and Anna Mae Coleman of Council, Idaho.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Melissa’s family at http://www.gofundme.com/ha9q8s.

  • Sis……I miss you so much! I had such a hard time over there just getting ready every morning with out you sharing the mirror. Funny how the little everyday things matter like that. I miss your laugh. I want to promise you that I will always be there for your Mia and Mady! I think you already know that but just reassuring you. I told them to call me every time they are with Grandma! They are such beautiful girls and are gonna be strong women because of you!!!!! I love you sis and have a very big hole in my heart now. But with the Lord’s help I can get thru this and promise to be there for your Babies……….. Loves from the Janababe…….
