Melvin (Moose) Evosevich;  Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and longtime resident of West Richland WA passed away November 20, 2014 at the Hospice House, in Kennewick WA.  He was 76.

Mel was born in Aliquippa Pennsylvania in 1938, one of five children born to John and Rose Evosevich, he toured around the world twice, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mel is survived by Sandra, his wife of 51 years, four brothers; George, Bob, Stan, Sam and their families. Mel is also survived by his two sons Zane and Delroy, Daughters-in-law Cheryl and Jane, his Grandson Tyson and his wife Meggan, his Grandsons Seth, Sean, Andrew, his Great Granddaughter Teeggan, the Aunspaugh Family (Mel’s extended family), numerous friends, and last, but not least; his “cat kids” Tina and Tom.

While in the Navy, Mel met his wife Sandra and they had their first child Zane. After he attended Navy Nuke School, Mel and his wife moved to California and had their second child Delroy. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Mel moved his family to Spokane WA, and then to Richland WA in 1974. In 1974 Mel went to work at Energy Northwest as a Nuclear Power Operator and later as an Instructor until his retirement in 1999.

Upon his retirement, Mel jumped at the opportunity to “Grandpa” sit his  grandsons and grand-dog Sam for a couple of years, where he helped to raise, shape and form the boys into the fine young men they are today. Once a week, after dropping the boys off to school, Mel and his (not so) little buddy Sam would make their weekly visit to McDonalds for their bacon egg and cheese biscuits that they would enjoy by the River, savoring a bit of quiet time before the boys came home.

Mel was a man of many talents and attributes. He had a great sense of humor, was a man of honor, loyalty, work ethic and had a strong belief of family.  Mel (Moose) will be missed everyday onward, and will never be forgotten.
