From Kennewick, WA | Born in Willow Springs, MO

Mrs. Dorothy Nelson

Our beloved mother Dorothy Mae Nelson passed on December 23, 2014 due to complications after heart surgery.

Dorothy was born and raised in Willow Springs, Missouri.  Then moved to Eastern Washington at the age of 11.  She married William G. Nelson in 1948.

Throughout her life, she worked various places as a cook until she found her favorite job as a chef at the Columbia Room in the Bon Marche.

During her lifetime, Dorothy loved to travel.  Visiting places from Hawaii to Alaska.  But her biggest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Dorothy loved music, but especially enjoyed listening to her kids play live music in various bands.

Dorothy had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by sons Robert Nelson of West Richland, Terry Nelson of Kennewick, daughters Carol Wilson of College Place, Donna Warner of Spokane, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents Gus and Goldie Berry, sisters Fay and Ruby, brother Junior, and longtime companion Kent Fleischman.
