A long-time resident of Richland, WA passed away at Kadlec Regional Medical Center on January 4, 2015.

She was born October 20, 1915 in Como, Mississippi to James Merriwether (lawyer) and Ida Pauline Taylor who had been called to Mississippi from Denver, Colorado to help his folks on their large cotton plantation estate as his three brothers had to report for military duty for World War I and Maxine was born.  She married in June 1941 to Elmer N. Miner. They moved to Richland in May 1944, witnessing the interesting early days of the development and the atomic frontier days. 

Maxine received her education while living in Denver.  She graduated from East High School and attended Colorado State College in Ft. Collins, CO.  She was employed as an executive secretary and bookkeeper for Colorado Finance Company and Colorado Industrial Bank.  She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Sigma Fi Chapter and Kadlec Medical Center Auxiliary. She made many beautiful items for Kadlec throughout the years.  Maxine also worked for many years for the American Red Cross in the blood donor division.  She joined the bowling group and then spent many happy days on the Sham No Pum Golf Course.

Maxine is survived by eight nieces, Sharon Taylor, Lynn Corbet, Kelly Dimew, Carol, Jan and Leslie Taylor, Judith Griffith and Connie Witcher and good friend, Daniel E. Naugle.
