Nadine Erma Slone, 74, of Richland, passed away at home in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday, January 2, 2015, surrounded by her family. Born July 29, 1940, in Arroll, Missouri, she spent most of her youth growing up in Colorado Springs where she helped to raise her three siblings.  After marrying Joseph Slone, an Air Force airman, they travelled the world and she endured tough times raising the children alone while Joe was serving in Vietnam and Korea. They moved to Sciotoville, Ohio in 1973, where they lived for twelve years before settling in Richland, Washington in 1985. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.

Nadine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Joseph A. Slone and her brother David Hager of Bend, Oregon. She is survived by her brother, Mike ( Ruth ) Hager of Redmond, Oregon, her sister Sandy (Everett) Nichols of Bend, Oregon, her two daughters; Starr (Steve) Bommarito of St. Louis, Missouri, Tina (Kevin) Newcomb of Kennewick and her three sons; James (Annie) Slone of Seattle, Jason (Rhonda) Slone of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Justin (Joy) Slone of Richland. Nine Grandchildren: Celeste, Sara, Steven, Cecilia, Dillon, Dakota, Hailey, Joey and Kara.  Six Great Grandchildren: Ava, Micah, Logan, Stella, Reagan and Corry.

Anyone who knew “Grandma Deannie” will remember her for her life values of Love, Honesty and Fairness.  ”Mean Dean” will be remembered for her sharp wit and brutal honesty. She has touched many, many lives and will be greatly missed. 

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:30am at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland.
