Irene Christina (Yehle) Whiting, 87, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Richland, Washington.  She was born on April 15, 1927 in Buffalo, NY.  Irene grew up in Amherst, New York, and graduated from Amherst Central High School.  She worked for AT&T in New York for many years.  Irene married Bruce Whiting in 1953.  In addition to Buffalo, they lived in Davenport, IA; Detroit, MI; Springfield, VA; and Allentown, PA.  Irene was a devoted and caring full time home maker for her family during those years.  After Bruce died in 2005, Irene moved to the Tri-Cities, Washington area, where she spent her final years.  Irene enjoyed bowling, cooking, tending her roses, reading, and corresponding with friends and family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Sr. She is survived by her son Bruce Jr., his wife Kim Anh, and grandson Alexander; son Mark, his wife Lorrie, and grandchildren Alex, Ben, and Charlotte; and her brother Irving (Jimmy).  A memorial service will be held at Bachman, Kulik, and Reinsmith’s chapel in Allentown, on February 26, 2015 at 1PM.
