Keith E. Fiene of Richland, WA passed away on Feb.6, his 84th birthday.  He was born in 1931 in Council Bluffs, IA.  He met his wife to be, Betty Woods, in fourth grade in Omaha.  He was a football standout at Benson High School, winning a football scholarship to the University of Nebraska.

 After an injury he enlisted in the Army and saw action in Korea where he earned several decorations, including The Soldier's medal for heroism.  He returned to Nebraska in 1953, married Betty and completed his degree.

 He was first employed by Boeing in Seattle, then by Hanford in the Richland area.  They were avid salmon fisherman, birdwatchers, bowlers and bicyclists; Keith also promoted and coached table tennis and wrote haiku poetry.

 He is survived by sisters Norma Carter of Greensburg, PA; Rita Reed (Peter) of Des Moines, IA;

Ruth Hanon of Tucson, AZ; and brother John Fiene of Omaha, NE and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, brother Don Fiene (Shirley) of Sargent, NE: and brother in law Richard Carter.

 Services will be private, no memorials requested.  His passions and sense of humor will be long remembered.
