From Tri-Cities, WA | Born in Jennings, KS
Rusta G Watt
Rusta G. Watt, 73, of Tri-Cities, WA passed away February 15th, 2015 in Moses Lake, WA with her family by her side. She was born in Jennings, Kansas on December 5th, 1941 to William and Wilhelmina Stephens. They moved to Richland, WA shortly after where Rusta went through all of her high school years.
At the age of 16, Rusta
met her soul mate, Melvin Watt. They were married one year later. Her proudest
moments were the birth of her five children William, Mark, Deanna, Pamla and
Daniel. Raising five children without going insane was quite the
accomplishment!
She is survived by
Murl Stephens (brother), Mary Fowler (sister), Leland Stephens (brother),
William Watt (son), Mark Watt (son), Deanna Lytle (daughter), Daniel Watt (son)
and many grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews.
Rusta is preceded in
death by William and Wilhelmina Stephens (parents), Melvin Watt (husband),
Velda Colby (sister), Pamla Watt (daughter) and Heidi Dove (granddaughter).
She was a loving
wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She always saw the best in
everyone and never had a bad word to say.
She was the best
mother a kid could have…You will always be our sunshine.
A Viewing will be held Friday, February 20th, 2015 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Einan’s at Sunset Chapel. The Funeral Service, also at Einan’s at Sunset will be Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at 10:00am. A Graveside Service will immediately follow the funeral.
I was about 4 years than Rusta, so I have fond memories of her when we all lived in Denver in the 40’s. She traveled with Uncle Bill and Aunt Wilhelmina most years when they stopped in Grant, Ne. to see my parents, Howard and Marguerite Stephens. I am still glad her parents were with us when my Dad passed away in 1977.
I was able to attend Uncle Bill’s funeral and stayed at Wilhelmina’s when I visited the Tri Cities.
May Rusta’s family know that our prayers and memories are all with them. Wish we could have been there for her funeral.
With love and heavy heart’s, Cousin Jerry and Joanne
Rusta Stevens and I were in 5th grade together at Lewis & Clark in Richland. I remember she was a little shy but we were friends. Just wanted her family to know that she is remembered today.
Dan – I am so sorry for your loss. I think of you and your family often. You are our thoughts and prayers.
Mary Ann and family, So sorry to hear of your loss – you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love Carol
