Shirley Ann Dement, 82, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Tri-City Retirement Inn in Pasco, Washington. 

She was born on May 26, 1932 in Walla Walla, Washington to William and Anna Gradwohl. 

She was raised in Walla Walla, Washington, graduated from Walla Walla High School and attended Washington State College. 

Shirley was married to Frank Dement for 24 years and they lived in the Tri-Cities, Washington; Livermore, California and Forest Grove, Oregon.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, playing the piano and keeping track of politics.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Judy Brinson and survived by her sister, Nancy Austin of Walla Walla, Washington. 

Shirley is survived by her son, Kevin and daughter-in-law, Sylvia; grandchildren, Franklin Dement, Jacqueline Reincke, Jessica Dement-Dittman and Stephanie Dauenhauer and great-grandchild, Maverik Reincke.

 The family would like to give special thanks to Shirley’s care-givers at the Tri-City Retirement Inn.

 We are also thankful that when Shirley came to Christ a few months ago, it had a transforming effect on her.  We rejoice with family and friends about Shirley’s eternal decision and were blessed to witness her kind, gentle and loving spirit.  This was evidence of “never to give up on hope or prayers”.

There will be a memorial service at Events at Sunset; 915 Bypass Hwy, Richland, WA on Saturday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m.
