Alma Donahue
Alma Donahue, 92, of Richland, WA, passed away May, 25, 2015 at Quail Hollow Memory Care Community. She was born on February 5, 1923 in Eureka, SD and grew up on the farm with her 11 siblings, Alma being the youngest.
Alma was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir. She also was the Sunday School Secretary/Treasurer for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Len) Ross; daughter, Lila (Bert) Andor; daughter, Gayle (Kim) Adams; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and her brother, Edmund Opp.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Donald Donahue; mother, Elizabeth Opp; father, John Opp; 10 of her siblings and her granddaughter Angela Valdez.
Viewing will held at Einan’s at Sunset Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 3:00pm-5:00pm. A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church (520 Thayer Drive, Richland) on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00am. The family will hold a private graveside at Sunset Gardens.
Our family would like to give sincere thanks to the caring staff at Quail Hollow. Their love and care for Alma will be forever appreciated. Special thanks to Selene and Carla.
Alma was a dear friend during the years we lived in Richland. We worked together on numerous committees at Redeemer Lutheran. If I’m not mistaken, she and my mother worked together at the Richland Laundry in the 1940s. Alma as a true Child of God’s and you can smile knowing she’s in His loving arms now. May God bless each of you.
