Deloris J. Walker went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 17, 2015, at the age of 80. Born in Salem, OR, Deloris had a very blessed life. She moved from Oregon to Seattle at a young age then moved again to Kennewick, WA, where she graduated from Kennewick High School and met some of her life-long friends. 

She met Howard Walker while she was in high school and, shortly after she graduated, they married. After spending two years in the Army on the East Coast they returned to the Tri-Cities where they have lived ever since. One of the biggest joys of her life was the birth of her only child, Larry. The family was blessed to have several other families to enjoy such things as camping, fishing, hunting, vacationing together, and celebrating life. In 1975, they purchased some property in Cle Elum and spent many days up there each summer enjoying the friendships that had grown over the years. 

After taking care of the family for many years and her husband retiring they spent several winters in Arizona and summers in the Tri-Cities. She took several short trips to Vegas with other couples and traveled the world by cruise ship. She loved all the pampering that came with the cruise lines – but it was their property in Cle Elum that she held very dear as she could invite people up and sit back as they relaxed and enjoyed nature. Retirement brought on her favorite comment, “Let’s eat out!”     

Deloris was a member of Central Church for 56 years. She cherished her relationship with Jesus, her Savior and prayed for others to come to know Him as well.

Besides her church family, Deloris leaves behind her husband of 62 years; her son, Larry (JoAnn) of West Richland; three grandchildren: Nicholas (Miriah) Kent, Thomas and Jonathan Walker; one great-grandchild, Kimber; niece, Glenda (Max) Hansen; nephew, Ron (Mary) Slater; and her life-long friend, Charlotte Tracy. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ester; father, Dale Lawson; sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Glen Slater; and numerous other relatives and special friends. 

A Memorial Service followed by a reception will be held on May 30, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Central Church; 1124 Stevens Drive, Richland, WA.
