Charlotte G. (Urseth) Boness
The family of Charlotte G. (Urseth) Boness grieves the loss of their beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will also be greatly missed by a wide circle of extended family and friends. Charlotte, 92, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA.
Charlotte was born to Simon C. Urseth and Bertha (Harrington) Urseth, the youngest of seven daughters, in Shotley Brook, Minnesota.
In October 1942, Charlotte married her high school sweetheart and WWII Navy man, Oren T. Boness. In 1950, Charlotte and Oren moved to Richland, WA where he worked on the Hanford Project and they raised their family. Charlotte was a wonderful homemaker and a gifted seamstress and quilter who delighted her family with a lifetime of wonderful creations, each one a labor of love. Oren preceded her in death in November 2002.
She will always be remembered with love by those left behind:
Children: Pamela B. (Paul) Pedersen, Laura L. Smith, Gregory O. (Kathi) Boness, Suzanne M. (Stanley) Kaveckis, Kris O. (Sharon) Boness, Charis M. (Joseph) Stivala.

Greg, Laura, Kris, Charis, Pam, Suzy, & all,
My thoughts are with you as you mourn the death and celebrate the life of your Dear Mother. Charlotte was one of my father Edgar’s many wonderful cousins who will be remembered, in part, for her wide smiles and infectious laughter. I will always be grateful for the warmth and generosity that she and OT showered on Nancy, Phil, & I during our visit to Richland way back in 1970. What great times! It was so nice to have seen your Mom & Dad at the reunion in ’96! Charlotte was a great lady, the last of a Greatest Generation, who will live on in our memories until all of us are gone.
So many emotions are rolling around inside it’s hard to sort them out. The most important one though is gratitude…I am so grateful that Char was my Auntie and honored to be part of her extended family. My memories of Char and OT are ALL wonderful and cherished…not a bad one in the bunch! I am so blessed. Sing your way home Auntie Char. Love, Nancy
To Auntie Charlotte’s family,
I’m so sorry to hear of your dear mother’s and grandmother’s death. I have many fond memories of Char and Oren and all of you kids. Even way back as a kid I noticed so many similarities between Mabel and Charlotte. The picture of your mom sure tugs at my heart. She was a princess indeed.
To my dear Auntie Charlotte—My first strong memory of you was when you were laughing. Your laughed so hard that I had to laugh and so did everybody else. So, as a 7 or 8 year old child I think that my idea of joy got set right then: laughter was important. You and my Mom, Mable, seemed a lot alike to me. That made you pretty memorable, too. The last time I saw you was when I brought Mom out from Minnesota to see you and Oren. I’ve always been grateful that I got to see some of your beautiful handiwork and quilts. An artist at heart. I love you and support you on your next journey. We will miss you. Carol Jane
My thoughts are with you all as we wish dear Charlotte goodbye from this Earth. While I am saddened at the passing of the last Urseth sister, I am also filled with gratitude that I am part of such a wonderful lineage!
Peace to my departed great-aunt Charlotte. Thank you for being a part of my wonderful family, may you find pure peace on your journey.
Sad to know that the Urseth sisters have all transcended this world, but my oh my they must be glad to be reunited. Godspeed Auntie Char. Say hi to Grandma Mable.
Goodbye Aunt Char,
As you go, please take our love to Grandma and the rest of your sisters. We are truly blessed to be part of such a large and loving family. You will be missed.
Love, Barry, Zibby & John
