After returning to Kennewick, “Mr. Elmore” taught 6th

his many Latin American friends until his illness forced him to stay close to
home.

I am so sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. I graduated from Kennewick High with Jerry in 1953. He was a good friend and a funny guy. I would see him at every class reunion that he attended. Another one of the good guys is gone–very sad. My thoughts are with his family.
Jerry was a wonderful man to teach with. When he retired we all missed him. We always loved to hear his stories about his trips to South America some of which he shared with his students. His love for his job and the kids and staff he worked with were always priority for him. He was kind and thoughtful and very compassionate. I remember kids searching him out to talk with him about their problems. He will be missed. Larry and I truly loved Jerry. He will now be at rest and at peace.

Sorry to hear that Jerry had passed on. I graduated with Jerry from Kennewick High School in 1953. We shared a common bond in that we were both born in Oklahoma and were proud to be “0kies”. I admired his skills as a Basketball player and he was just fun to be around. We will miss him.
I graduated for KHS with Jerry. He was a friend of everyone in our class of 1953.
I remember him from basketball – – he was known for his skill with the “hook shot”.
Something most folks probably do not know, is that he was also an excellent pool and snooker player.
Rest in peace Jerry.

Mr. Elmore was a kind and thoughtful teacher. I have reminisced with other Park Middle School alumni about the impact he had on each one of us. He will be missed. My thoughts are with his family. Rest in peace.
Mr. Elmore was my 6th grade social studies teacher at Park Middle School. He was always so passionate about South American culture. I can picture him at the front of the classroom like it was yesterday and not over 30 years ago! Fair winds, Mr. Elmore. May you rest in peace….
