Audra Monette Cox
Audra Monette “Carter” Cox passed away August 5th in Richland, Washington at the amazing age of 100. She was born June 30, 1915 in Thompsonville, Illinois and moved to Richland, Washington in 1945 with her husband Kenneth Cox.
Audra was an employee of Battelle Northwest Laboratory and an active member in the Richland Baptist Church. She also belonged to the Senior Traveler’s Club and Eastern Star. There are many wonderful hobbies she enjoyed such as knitting, cross stitching, sewing, tatting, crocheting and traveling.
Awaiting her in Heaven are her parents, Jeanette and Sherman Carter, her husband Kenneth Cox and her sisters; Ruth Carter, Jessie Summers, and Dorothy Powell and nephew Michael Powell.
She is survived by many friends and family members who are keeping her memories alive: her sister, Jean Battershell, many nieces and nephews, Carolyn Young Montague, Kathryn Battershell Doran (John), Lori Battershell Sportelli (Jim), Rodney Powell (Linda) and Patti Burlison (Ronnie). Audra was also blessed with great nieces, great nephews, great- great nieces and great-great nephews.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the County Line Cemetery in Thompsville, Illinois.

My Mom Blanche Moss & I used to take Aud to church sometimes or ride with her. I remember when I was in high school I bought my first car from Aud & Hayme for $200. it was a 1950 ford 4-door. Wish I still had it. I used to do chores for them and they were always ready to buy veggies from me out of my dads (Malcolm P. Moss) garden.
