Jack V. McMaster

                Jack V. McMaster, 94, passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 1, 2015 in Pasco, Washington.  Jack was born, July 7, 1921 in Landers, Wyoming to John C. and Minnie McMaster. Jack was raised in Deadwood, South Dakota where he attended school and at one time worked for the Homestead Goldmine in Deadwood. Jack received his Bachelor’s Degree from the South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City, SD and his Master's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Utah. He also worked for General Motors as a Spark Plug Engineer during WWII.       

                Jack moved to Richland, Washington in 1949 to work on the Hanford Reservation. This is where he would meet and marry his loving wife of 65 years. He married Virginia “Ginny” Jopling on February 22, 1950. While working on the Hanford Reservation he worked for EI DuPont, General Electric, and Battelle until work slowed down. Jack and Ginny sold their home in 1971 and moved to Sitka, Alaska where Jack was the Business Manager of Sheldon Jackson College. In 1974 Jack and Ginny returned to Richland, WA so that Jack could go to work for UNC – United Nuclear Corp where he worked until his retirement in 1985.

                Jack had a love for Christ and was a long time member of Westside Church serving as a Deacon.  He enjoyed traveling with Ginny. They traveled to many places including the Holy Land, Hawaii, Japan and made several trips to Alaska. He loved to keep his mind working by playing scrabble and putting together puzzles. You could always tell when his engineering mind was turning because he would always be twiddling his thumbs. He also loved his family very much. 

                Jack is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” McMaster, Kennewick, WA; son, Gordon (Chris) McMaster, Richland, WA; daughter, Marsha Dandrea, Las Vegas, NV; granddaughters: Stacy (Scott) Atchison, Pasco, WA, and Miranda Sheridan, Henderson, NV; grandsons: Gordon (Stephanie) McMaster II, Kennewick, WA, and Shane Sheridan, Las Vegas, NV; great -grandchildren: Kadell, Michael, Austin, Bailey, Nathan, Cloee, MaKayla, Paisley and Samantha.  He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

                At Jack’s request there will be no public services. Einan’s at Sunset is handling arrangements.
