Margaret (Maggie) Nadine Larson, 66, passed away September 13, 2015, at Kadlec Hospital in Richland. Maggie was born December 15, 1948 to Benjamin and Evelyn Vaughn in Bellingham, WA. She was the second of four children in the Vaughn family. Maggie moved with her family to Seattle in 1957. As a teenager she took shorthand classes and worked in her parent's pet store. 

Maggie married Roy Haslett in Seattle in 1967 and went to work for STP Motor Oil Company.
Next she landed a job at the Social Security office in Seattle. Her oldest daughter, Cheryl, born in 1969, had one of the last social security numbers Maggie was able to hand pick before system automation. Maggie transferred to the Pasco Social Security office in 1974 and worked there until 1978. A second daughter, Belinda, was born in 1976.

Maggie worked a short stint at the PUD before tackling the construction trade. She worked out of Laborers Local Union 348 until 1980. 

Maggie met Kermit Larson in February 1983 at a Parents Without Partners function. The two married May 18, 1983. In more recent years, they enjoyed spending winters in Arizona.

Maggie earned her real estate license in 1987 and helped hundreds of families find their perfect homes over the next 18 years while working for first Century 21 and then Distinctive Properties. She loved to give back to her community; she was a proud member of several civic and social organizations including Kiwanis Club of Kennewick from 1990 to 2008 and The Red Hat Society from 2004 to present. She loved music and dancing and often sang along to the radio, humming any words she didn’t know. Maggie was a proud grandma, cheering for her granddaughter Bree Nelson at all her sporting events. 

Maggie is survived by her husband, Kermit Larson; her daughters, Cheryl Alikhani and Belinda Haslett, her son-in-law Brad Nelson; her stepchildren, Nels Larson and Annie Larson, and her nine grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She also leaves her siste,r Deborah Vaughn-Kinyon and brother David Vaughn. She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Vaughn; mother, Evelyn Vaughn, and brother, Benjamin Vaughn, Jr. 

Services for Maggie will be held on September 25, 2015 at 5:00 pm at the West Side Church, 615 Wright St. in Richland, Washington.
