Margaret (Peggy) Jewett

Margaret (Peggy) Jewett, 84, of Richland, passed away on October 8, 2015 at the Hospice at Chaplaincy House in Kennewick. She was born, January 1, 1931 in Bridgeport, CT.

Peggy came to the Tri-City area in 1945 and graduated from Richland High School. She met Eldon L. Jewett and they married in 1949 and were together for 50 years before his passing. While she called the Tri-Cities her home, she had become a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Meadow Springs Country Club, and was part of the board directors for Kadlec Hospital Foundation.

Peggy was so happy being able to raise her sons. She loved doing it and did the best she knew how; she loved them so and was proud of them. One of her fondest moments was when she and dad ran the travel agency and upon retirement, she sold the whole thing (not our dad-but our mom). Peggy was honored in being asked to belong to the Kadlec Foundation Board.

She is survived by her sons, Randy Jewett; and son, Ron (Jane) Jewett; sister, Carol (Ron) Mudd; Gail (Roy) Powell; Mark (Pat) Hinkle; one granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon L. Jewett; parents and sister, Betty Hinkle.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date with inurnment at Sunset Gardens in Richland.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or to the Kadlec Hospital Foundations.

Mom was such an icon and inspiration to the family and will be greatly missed. We love you to the moon and back.
