Sally Norton Rees was born on November 9, 1918, in Ashland, Kentucky to Dan and Mayme Norton.  She died on October 24th at the age of 96 in Vancouver, Washington of natural causes. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, three older brothers and her husband, Max Rees.  She is survived by her three children, Judy (Ken) Ryan of Tucson, Arizona, Sally (Richard) Dall of Vancouver, Washington, and Max (Donna) Rees of Portland, Oregon.  Sally adored her 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.   

After high school Sally was the lovely lead vocalist in several bands, touring the South.  She fell in love with and married a handsome drummer, Max Rees.  In 1944 Max moved his family to Richland to work at Hanford.  There Sally taught Sunday school for 26 years at Central United Protestant Church and held PTA offices at Sacajawea and Jefferson.  She was a troop leader in Brownies and Girl and Boy Scouts.  Sally felt lucky to have lived in Richland for 67 years. Her mission in life was to take wonderful care of her family, and she was a big success.   

A family memorial service will be held in Vancouver, Washington.  Sally and her family owe much gratitude to the staff at Cascade Inn in Vancouver.  She was treated with kindness, respect and love during her four years there.
